GOT QUESTIONS? GREAT!
Check out the frequently asked questions below, or email me at hello@doyoumind.net.
DO YOU MEET WITH MY CHILD?
Generally, no. In saying that, I work with children A LOT (they're the best), so I'll take everything case by case. At this stage, the sessions provided by Do You Mind are designed for parents, because that's where the biggest shift happens, and busy bouncy kiddos don't usually love telehealth. I encourage you to start with the Fit Check form to see if we are the right fit, and if not, I can point you in the right direction.

DO YOU HAVE AFTER HOURS APPOINTMENTS?
Yes! This is the wonderful thing about telehealth sessions, it's more flexible for both you and I, so appointment hours can be more flexible.
HOW DO I CONTACT YOU?
New clients can reach me via email at hello@doyoumind.net.
Current clients usually prefer to reach me by replying to the session SMS reminder text thread. I don't have an admin team (yet...) so there is no dedicated phone line.

WHO ARE YOU?
I'm a registered psychologist with experience working with children, adults, and families. I ventured out into private practice after spending a few years supporting families in the not-for-profit sector. My areas of interest have always aligned with family and neurodiverse support, and there has always been such limited support for parents in the psychology space. So, I'm very excited to have the opportunity to create Do You Mind and support parents more directly.

HOW DO I KNOW THIS IS THE RIGHT SERVICE FOR ME?
I'll help you decide. The truth is, I might not be the right fit for you, which is why the first step in our intake process is completing a Fit Check form. I'll review your answers, and if it looks like I might be a good fit for you, I'll organise a free 15-minute orientation call. If I'm not the right service, I'll send you some other referral options.

WHAT ARE PARENTING SESSIONS?
Parenting sessions are therapeutic consultations designed to support caregivers in understanding and responding to their child’s emotional, behavioural, or developmental needs. Our sessions will focus on building parenting insight, strengthening family relationships, and developing practical strategies tailored to your child’s unique profile.
About
IS THIS SIMILAR TO FAMILY THERAPY?
Not quite. While both approaches support the whole family system, our sessions focus specifically on equipping parents with tools to support their child. Think of it less like everyone sitting in a room sharing feelings, and more like a practical, emotionally attuned coaching space for parents.
About
WHAT KINDS OF CHALLENGES DO YOU SUPPORT?
Shutdowns, meltdowns, and sensory overload. Persistent Drive for Autonomy (PDA) and low demand parenting skills. Parent burnout, stress, guilt, and decision fatigue. Attachment disruption and relational repair. The invisible labor of advocacy, appointments, and "being the expert" on your child. Just to name a few.
About
DO YOU ACCEPT MEDICARE REFERRALS?
Yes! Parents can get their own Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) if the sessions are intended to support their own mental health and wellbeing. This includes psychological support for issues like parenting stress, burnout, anxiety, or grief related to their caregiving role. Parents may also be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan if parenting stress, burnout, or emotional dysregulation are part of the parent’s chronic condition. Eligibility is determined by your GP who will assess the need and appropriateness.

MY CHILD HAS NDIS FUNDING - CAN THAT BE USED IN PARENTING SESSIONS?
Yes! Parents and carers can use their child’s Improved Daily Living funding under NDIS Capacity Building to attend parenting sessions, as long as those sessions directly support the child’s functional, emotional, or developmental goals. It's always best to check with your plan provider though.

About
CAN I BRING MY PARTNER OR CO-PARENT?
Yes! I support the whole caregiving system.
HOW LONG DO THE SESSIONS GO FOR?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes.
DO YOU PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES FOR COURT?
Nope. Our services are focused on therapeutic support for families, not legal documentation or court involvement.
