GOT QUESTIONS? GREAT!
Check out the frequently asked questions below, or email me at hello@doyoumind.net.
DO YOU HAVE AFTER HOURS APPOINTMENTS?
Yes! This is the wonderful thing about telehealth sessions, it's more flexible for us both, so appointment hours can be more flexible.
HOW DO I CONTACT YOU?
New clients can reach me via email at hello@doyoumind.net.
Current clients usually prefer to reach me by replying to the session SMS reminder text thread. I don't have an admin team (yet...) so there is no dedicated phone line.

WHAT WILL I GET OUT OF PARENTING SESSIONS?
Each session is tailored to you and your family's needs. They might include:
-

-
Support for navigating diagnoses or developmental concerns
-
Tools for improving communication and connection within the family

Psychoeducation around neurodivergence, trauma, or emotional regulation
DOES MY CHILD NEED A DIAGNOSIS FOR ME TO WORK WITH YOU?
No diagnosis needed. We support all parents, regardless of whether their child is diagnosed or undiagnosed.

IS THIS SIMILAR TO FAMILY THERAPY?
Not quite. While both approaches support the whole family system, our sessions focus specifically on equipping parents with tools to support their child. Think of it less like everyone sitting in a room sharing feelings, and more like a practical, emotionally attuned coaching space for parents.
About
DO YOU ACCEPT MEDICARE REFERRALS?
Yes! Parents can get their own Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) if the sessions are intended to support their own mental health and wellbeing. This includes psychological support for issues like parenting stress, burnout, anxiety, or grief related to their caregiving role. Parents may also be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan if parenting stress, burnout, or emotional dysregulation are part of the parent’s chronic condition. Eligibility is determined by your GP who will assess the need and appropriateness.

MY CHILD HAS NDIS FUNDING - CAN THAT BE USED IN PARENTING SESSIONS?
Most of the time, yes. Depending on your child's NDIS goals, parents and carers can generally use their child’s Improved Daily Living funding under NDIS Capacity Building to attend parenting sessions, as long as those sessions directly support the child’s functional, emotional, or developmental goals. It's always best to check with your plan provider though.

HOW LONG DO THE SESSIONS GO FOR?

DO YOU PROVIDE LEGAL SERVICES FOR COURT?
